Yoga Trapeze - Kids, Teens, Adults

Upside down is a great place to start.
Most kids come to Yoga Trapeze because they want to do tricks. That's a perfectly good reason. What keeps them coming back is everything else — the strength they didn't realize they were building, the inversions that felt impossible in week one and routine by week four, and the particular confidence that comes from doing something genuinely challenging in a space where it's safe to try.
Yoga Trapeze incorporates traditional yoga asana, breathwork, and relaxation — but the practice is built around aerial yoga trapeze rigs rather than a mat. That changes things. Pulling, gripping, hanging, inverting — these are movements that a mat-based practice rarely asks for, and that most kids and teens are missing from their daily lives entirely. The trapeze fills that gap in a way that feels less like exercise and more like play.
For teens especially, the physical and mental demands of trapeze practice — focus, risk assessment, incremental progression — translate into real confidence. For adults, the spinal decompression and functional strength work address exactly what sitting at a desk all day undoes.
What happens in class
All Yoga Trapeze classes include mat-based yoga poses, breathwork, games and creative activities on and off the rigs, and relaxation. Classes are capped at ten students for safety on the rigs. Two levels are offered based on experience and readiness.
- Level 1 introduces the core vocabulary and foundational skills of a Yoga Trapeze practice. Students develop comfort with inversions, learn to support their weight in different holds, and build the strength and confidence to progress. This level is appropriate for beginners, students still developing confidence with inversions, or students who prefer a slower-paced class.

- Level 2 is designed for students with at least a full semester — or a full camp week — of Yoga Trapeze under their belt. Students at this level are comfortable with inversions, have the arm and core strength to pull up into the rigs, and are proficient with the basic repertoire of the practice. Students with experience in gymnastics or circus disciplines may request approval to join Level 2 by attending a weekend pop-up to assess vocabulary and core skills, or by scheduling a private evaluation lesson.
A note on the age minimum: Yoga Trapeze classes are open to students 8 and older. That minimum exists for real reasons — students need adequate grip and core strength, the ability to follow verbal directions, and the impulse control to work safely on the rigs. These capacities aren't typical of younger children, and safety on the trapeze depends on them. If your child is 8 but you're not sure they're ready, reach out and we'll help you figure it out.
For adults
Adult Yoga Trapeze classes aren't currently on the schedule — but the practice is particularly well-suited to adults dealing with back, neck, or shoulder stiffness. Trapeze inversions counteract gravity, creating space and length in the spine through gentle bodyweight traction. The pulling and grip strength work fills a gap that most mat-based practices leave open.

How enrollment works
Yoga Trapeze classes run in multi-week sessions and meet at the same time each week. Registration is required — no drop-ins. We run four semesters per year, beginning in September, January, April, and June. Fees prorate automatically for late enrollment as long as registration is open. Workshops, intro classes, and other single-date events are noted as such.
We know that committing to a semester feels like a risk when you've never been. Our no-risk refund policy means you can register with confidence: if the class genuinely isn't the right fit after the first session, you can withdraw and receive a prorated refund.
